Best Practices Award


Objectives

In the tradition established on the occasion of the Bonn Conference by the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs, Women and Family of North Rhine-Westphalia and our SEN@ER Network, in the context of the Seville Conference, a competition is advertised under the name:


“Silver Economy in Europe - Best Practices Award 2007”


The award aims at motivating and triggering the development of new products and services serving the silver economy market as well as economic co-operations and regional silver economy networks of public administrations and industry.

This shall foster the establishment of a silver economy market and improving the quality of life of seniors.

The competition will award innovative and outstanding products, services and co-operative as well as regional network structures cutting across different levels (sectors as well as public administrations) which can stimulate the market and at the same time provide quality of life improvements to the older population.

 

Eligibility Requirements
Companies from all sectors in industry, wholesale and retail and services, regional public administrations and authorities, NGOs as well as regional and economic development agencies and lobbyist institutions from all EU regions can present innovative projects, products and services, economic co-operations and regional networks, which create new markets and improve the quality of life of older citizens.

Participation in this competition requires
1. valid registration as a participant in the conference;

Applications can be submitted in English or Spanish.

 

Appraisal and Selection
All applications will go through an absolutely transparent appraisal by a decentralised jury composed of representatives from the different members of the SEN@ER network. Evaluation and selection will be guided by the following core criteria:

  • Level of innovation

  • Exemplarity

  • Transferability    

  • Relationship to the silver economy market (indirect/direct)

The best three applications will be presented on an award ceremony of the conference and receive a distinction. No financial award is granted.
